Loaded Thai Style Bao Buns

Serves: Small Plate - Serves 1 as a starter or 2 as a sharing plate. | Cooking Time: Prep time: 10 minutes. Cook time: 4 minutes.

These Bao buns are fantastic for sharing and are loaded with Thai Inspired Hot & Spicy King Prawns and shredded vegetables, then finished off with spicy sriracha mayo.

Method
1. Cook the Whitby Seafoods Thai Inspired Hot & Spicy King Prawns as directed on the pack.
2. Meanwhile mix the sriracha mayo ingredients in a small bowl until combined. Season to taste with sea salt.
3. For the garnish, whisk the rice wine vinegar and sugar in a small bowl, then toss the finely shredded vegetables in the dressing until coated. Season with salt to taste.
4. Warm the bao buns as directed on the pack.
5. To assemble, spread half of the sriracha mayo in each bao bun then pile the shredded vegetables on top, followed by the prawns. Drizzle over the remaining sriracha mayo and garnish with black sesame seeds and slices of red chilli.

Tip: This recipe can also be served as a main course, with the addition of salt and pepper fries.

Ingredients:

  • 1 x 100g portion of Whitby Seafoods Thai Inspired Hot & Spicy King Prawns
  • Sriracha Mayo:
  • 25g good quality mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ tsp garlic, crushed
  • Sea salt
  • Garnish:
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • ¼ tsp caster sugar
  • 20g carrot, finely shredded
  • 1 spring onion, finely shredded
  • 20g cucumber, deseeded and finely shredded
  • To Serve:
  • 2 bao buns
  • 1 tsp black sesame seeds
  • 1 small red chilli, thinly sliced
